The short version

Islam Times is built to work on your device. Prayer times are calculated locally, your settings stay on your device, and we do not sell data or show ads.

Location

If you grant location access, your coordinates are used on your device to calculate prayer times and the Qibla direction. When you use a calculation method that relies on the Aladhan API, your coordinates are sent to that service to fetch timings; they are not stored by us. You can always pick a location manually instead.

Account

Creating an account in the Android app is optional. If you sign in, your email address and synced data (such as bookmarks and settings) are stored with our hosting provider, Supabase, solely to provide sync. You can delete your account from the app at any time, which removes this data.

Notifications

Prayer notifications, Daily Guidance and alarms are scheduled on your device. Your notification preferences, delivery history and prayer schedule never leave your device.

Announcements sent from us (occasional Friday and special-day messages) are the one exception, and they are off until you turn them on in Settings → Daily Guidance. While they are on, our push provider OneSignal holds a push token for your device plus your app language and whether special-day announcements are enabled — enough to deliver an announcement in your language on the right day, and nothing more. Turning the setting off withdraws that consent and stops the collection. Your location, calculation method and prayer settings are never sent there.

Crash reports

When crash reporting is enabled in a build, the Android app uses Sentry to report crashes and errors so they can be fixed. Reports are stripped of user identifiers and anything location-shaped before they leave the device, performance tracing and session replay are switched off, and console messages are not attached.

Who processes your data

Three processors, and only for the purposes above: Supabase (account and synced data, only if you sign in), OneSignal (announcements, only if you turn them on), and Sentry (crash reports). The Aladhan API receives coordinates when you use a calculation method that needs it. There are no advertising SDKs, no ad or cross-app identifiers, and we do not sell or share your data for advertising.

Analytics

The website uses Vercel Analytics, which is cookie-free and does not track you across sites.
